RED LIONS fights back from 2 goals down to defeat Carnegies 3-2 with two goals from Hung and one magic shot from Lio.
Reaching the half way stage of the OTPL couldn't have gone any better. The classic Cargenies - RED LIONS fixture was a game to be remembered. We played at Fu Jen Catholic university, on an amazing new turf pitch that allowed skillful moves and tactical play. Carnegies hit first thanks to an awesome display of speed and a nice cross from Luis Ricci, who assited Luis Mayorga for the first goal in the 8th minute. A few minutes later it was Mayorga again, who scored the second, taking advantage of an offside claim that confused the whole RED LIONS defense. But the Lions roared back after the water break and assumed a stronger formation, scoring a vital goal 5 minutes before the end of the first half, thus regaining confidence and then taking control of the game.
In the second half Lionel Gonzalez, inspired by Jesus, performed a miracle of his own, lobbing the ball over the keeper's head from 30 meters out. The flight of the ball surprised the goalkeeper as well as all the fans. Then it was Hung again who scored the decisive goal just before the second water break. During the last 15 minutes RED LIONS retreated and Carnegies created a few chances, but none of them could change the score due to their lack of accuracy.
Great victory for a perfect first leg of the league.
